Yahoo! HotJobs Job Seeker Site
My role at Yahoo! was multifaceted, and including establishing and growing a User Experience team to redefine and maintain the HotJobs business unit's online presence.
Problem
The job seeker site functions as the primary destination for millions of job hunters and secondarily as an entry point for recruiters. Competitive testing revealed the need to promote the brand, while further integrating the site into the Yahoo! network of services.
Explorations
Over the course of a couple years, we continuously improved the site with the goal of increasing revenue and traffic. Working closely with internal constituents and multiple rounds of usability testing, we tried to balance a freindlier approach with an increasingly search-saavy audience.
Home page with dual entry points.

Solution
We arrived at a home page that has a clear dichotomy for the two main audiences. We addressed the needs of both search-saavy and novices with an intuitive browse mechanism on the search results page. We supported career-focused users and our sales force with a revamped careers section featuring a tiered content structure and standardized ad units that were more salable across the network.
